Mapping a Fit for the Future Vision and Strategy for Glamorgan Sport
Just Solutions were employed to undertake a review of opportunities, needs and issues and the development of a future vision and strategy for the University of Glamorgan and its Glamorgan Sport ‘business'.
The work took account of: the University's current and future plans, drawing on the views and experience of different and relevant departmental staff members – the needs, issues and aspirations; as well as the wider perspective of current and potential national, regional and local stakeholders including the UK and beyond.
The review identified opportunities (e.g. for complementary and beneficial partnerships and potential funding), suggested solutions to emerging issues and informed recommended future business rationales, approaches and policies as well as establishing a vision and strategy for implementation.
The review included the following steps/elements:
Current Business and Internal Perspective Appraisal:
Business activities; priorities; issues and opportunities; strengths; weaknesses; future needs;
Perceptions and expectations of Glamorgan Sport;
Perception of the UK and world scene and the University's main ‘competitors';
Desk work - information and data analysis.
Appraisal of the ‘wider world' – existing and potential stakeholders/partners/customers/'competitors'
Perceptions; expectations; future needs and direction of their business needs which might have a
relevance/be of interest; identification of opportunities (commercial; academic; sports).
The recommendations were received favourably and Just Solutions were engaged to develop a more detailed business case for the two principle recommendations.
